What is NAMM? The NAMM, National Association of Music Merchants, trade show, established in 1901, is an annual event in the United States considered to be "the world's largest trade-only event for the music, sound, and event technology products industry." It's at the NAMM show where many leading manufacturers announce and unveil their exciting new product lines and series. The trade show also features keynote presentations given by distinguished figures and provides attendees the latest industry news and education. NAMM is not open to the general public, so we've rounded up some of the product releases that we feel stand out; along with, breaking news right here.

American DJ Pocket Pro Pearl 25-Watt LED Mini Moving Head in White
The Pocket Pro Pearl, is a compact, yet powerful spot style moving head fixture for mobile entertainers or venues with low ceilings where smaller fixtures are ideal. With a punchy 25W LED source, powerCON input and 3-pin DMX In/Out, the Pocket Pro Pearl, features an easy-access head where the seven stock GOBOs may be replaced for custom designs. American DJ LTS Color LED Lighted T-Bar Lighting Stand
Following the success of American DJ's Color Stand LED, the speaker tripod with LED-illuminated legs, at NAMM 2018 we saw the debut of the new LTS Color. This unique lighting stand can support an evenly-distributed load of up to 100lbs, and is supplied with an IR remote which can be used to select a wide variety of static colors and dynamic chase patterns. American DJ have announced the popular Element HEXIP will now be available in white housing. The Element HEXIP Pearl, is an IP54 outdoor rated battery powered LED Par with ADJ's WiFLY EXR wireless DMX for indoor or outdoor use. It is powered by four 10W RGBAW+UV (6-IN-1) HEX LEDs. American DJ Design Series DS4 Video Panel
Based on the same foundations as the AV Series: quality, reliability, and affordability. The Design Series offers a new dimension of creative potential.This innovative system comprises four modular panels of different shapes that can be combined together to create video screens of almost any conceivable size and shape. The DS4 (square), DS4T (triangle), DS4QC (quarter circle) and DS4HC (rectangle) can be easily linked together to create eye-catching video walls that fit perfectly with the shape of any venue, stage set or mobile lighting rig.
Offering a pixel pitch of 4.8mm, the Design Series panels utilize 3-in-1 SMD2020 LEDs to generate a brightness of 1200 NITS. The square panel has a pixel density of 104 x 104, which is equivalent to 43,264 per square meter, and the others have an equivalent density applied to their specific shapes and sizes. The panels have a recommended minimum viewing distance of 12.5ft. (3.8m) as well as a wide viewing angle of 160-degrees (horizontal) and 120-degrees (vertical), making them ideal for a wide variety of applications.

Chauvet DJ Wash FX 2 Multi-Purpose Effect Light
The new Wash FX2 made its debut at NAMM. This multi-purpose effect light has 18 Quad-color (RGB+UV) LEDs that can be used as a regular wash light, or as an eye-candy effect with six chasing zones. The series is made up of five models; the Mix, the DJ, the Club, the Digital, and the Scratch. The Concorde cartridges are iconic in the DJ realm. These cartridges have been reengineered from the ground up. After researching what DJ's are demanding, we found out they love the Concorde shape, but updated to suit the needs of modern DJ's. The fingerlifts on the MKII series are fully replaceable, meaning that broken fingerlings are a thing in the past. The cartridges have been redesigned, and widened, which offers the most stability. The stylus features a new rubber technology which is also responsible for better tracking ability and better sound quality.
