Introduction to DMX Lighting Control

A video tutorial with DJ Jordan Nelson

The basics:

If you’ve made it to this page we bet you’re looking for the basics & an introduction to DMX lighting control. Sound about right? Well you’ve come to the right place because we have a fantastic video that was produced with the novice in mind.  A person who has DMX lighting and has so far only used them with either automated, sound activated or remote control.  Now for a beginner, it’s easy to understand the fear of DMX lighting, but simply stated  if you’re not using DMX than you’re not getting the full capacity out of the lighting you spent your hard earned money on.

We have found that many people are just simply afraid of DMX lighting and think it may be too hard.  Well we’re here to tell you that its not and even if you were to only learn the absolute basics. A less than $200 investment and a little time and effort can pay you dividends in the future.  There’s nothing better than simply enhancing something tried and true that we already have don’t you think?

DJ Jordan Nelson:

Jordan has been working with IDJNOW for a while now and we were drawn to him first and foremost because of his knowledge.  He has written two books on DMX lighting and we were lucky enough to have Jordan produce a video for us based off his 2nd book, “DMX lighting for Mobile DJs” which is summed up by Jordan in his synpsis: “Don’t be afraid of DMX any longer! For many mobile DJs, DMX seems to be an impossibly challenging and complex mountain to climb. In the second book in his series of guides for mobile DJs, the author explains the ins and outs of all things DMX in a way that is simple to understand and easy to implement. Topics such as how DMX works, purchasing DMX lighting, choosing a DMX controller, and creating exciting light shows are covered in language that anyone can comprehend”

We recommend putting aside 20 minutes and watching this video, we’re sure it will take the fear out of DMX lighting for you!
